The work
What shop front spraying actually means
Shop front spraying — you may also see it written as shopfront spraying — is respraying the frontage you already have instead of ripping it out. Frames, fascias, panels and entrance surrounds are masked, prepared and coated in place, in the colour and finish you choose.
Replacing a shop front means shopfitters, lead times and a closed shop. Spraying skips all of that: there is nothing to remove, nothing to refit, and the work is typically finished in days rather than weeks. It uses less labour and less material than replacement or hand painting, which is why it usually comes in at a fraction of the cost.
The finish itself is a commercial two-pack coating applied by spray — uniform, hard-wearing, and resistant to chipping, peeling and UV fading, so the frontage stays looking new instead of quietly deteriorating in the weather.
Who we work with
From a single shop to a national rollout
The same teams that spray for national high-street brands handle a single independent shop.
Most of our work comes through shopfitters, architects, construction companies, shop owners and the managers who look after high-street chains. For a rebrand across an estate we repeat the same specification, the same colour and the same standard at every branch, on a programme agreed with you — one point of contact for the lot.

Shops that stay open
How we work around trading hours
A closed shop costs more than the paint. So we plan the work around the trading day: early mornings before opening, overnight shifts, or one section of the frontage at a time with the entrance kept clear.
Work areas are masked and contained, the coatings are low-odour, and everything is agreed with you — or with the branch and centre management — before anyone arrives. Whole projects are typically completed in a matter of days, so you are back to business as usual quickly.
Out-of-hours shifts
Early, late or overnight, so the doors stay open through the trading day.
Phased in sections
One elevation or bay at a time. Customers keep walking in.
Contained and tidy
Masked work zones, low-odour coatings, the frontage handed back clean.
Specification
Preparation, colour matching and the finish
A sprayed finish is only as good as the surface under it. Before any coating goes on we repair minor damage, degrease and clean the frontage, then abrade and prime so the system keys properly. Aluminium and powder-coated framing, fascias, panels and cladding are all sprayed with a system chosen for the substrate and the exposure.
Colour is matched to your brand, not near it — any RAL, BS or NCS reference, including planning-condition colours, with samples sprayed out for sign-off before the main work starts. The finished system carries a coating guarantee of up to 20 years, confirmed in writing with the quote.
Compliance
Accreditations, RAMS and insurance
Everything your procurement team asks for, in writing, before we get on site.
USP Coatings is CHAS accredited and every operative holds a valid CSCS card. We carry £10 million public liability insurance and send the certificate with the quote. Full risk assessments and method statements — RAMS — are issued for approval before any work begins, on every project, without being asked.

FAQs
Shop front spraying FAQs
Can the shop stay open while you spray?
Yes. We work early mornings, overnight or in phased sections with the entrance kept clear, so the shop keeps trading through the working day.
What parts of a shop front can be sprayed?
Aluminium and powder-coated framing, fascias, panels, entrance surrounds and cladding. If you are unsure whether yours is sprayable, send photographs and we will tell you either way.
Can you match our exact brand colour?
Yes — any RAL, BS or NCS reference, including brand and planning-condition colours. We have a colour-matching service and spray out samples for approval before the main work starts.
Is spraying cheaper than replacing the shop front?
Usually by some distance. Nothing is removed or refitted, and spraying uses less labour and material than replacement or hand painting, so the cost and the downtime both drop.
How long does a shop front respray take?
Most shop fronts are completed in a matter of days rather than weeks. The exact programme depends on the size and condition of the frontage, and is confirmed with the survey.
What guarantee do you offer?
A coating guarantee of up to 20 years, confirmed in writing with the quote.
Where we work
We are a national contractor and we come to the shop. Shop front spraying teams work across England, Scotland and Wales — a single unit on one high street or every branch in a chain. Head office is in Bradford. Send us the postcode and we will confirm survey availability.
